Since our formation in July 2005 we have been working towards the establishment of an African and Caribbean Centre for Cultural Heritage, Integration and Social Enterprise. The African and Caribbean Network received planning permission in February 2010 (see Evening Times report March 15th 2010) to build an African Caribbean Centre at 66/68 Osborne St in Glasgow's Merchant City. A community centre for the 40+ A&CN groups in Glasgow, which will cost more than £400,000 to refurbish. We had received £50,000 in Townscape Heritage Initiative and Glasgow City Council grants to restore the shop-front, side doors and windows in September 2010. This was completed in January 2011. See the plans.
